Network administration consultants
Description
Multiple positions are available for hourly contract consultants based
on skill sets. The ultimate intention is to select one or two candidates
for full time positions. This position is a well paid position and requires
a senior skilled network consultant.
Requirements
Must have three years IT consulting experience in the mid or enterprise
market. Customer relationship skills are essential. Job will require
frequent intra-city travel, and irregular night and weekend hours. Job
will require broad skill set for maintaining networks for multiple mid-size
companies primarily in the Houston area.
Technical skills
Candidates must possess skills in as many of the following technologies
as possible. They are loosely listed in descending order of importance.
- Windows 2000 Server and newer
- Active Directory
- Exchange Server 2000 and newer
- Cisco IOS
- SQL 2000
- Microsoft CRM
- Veritas Backup Exec
- Cisco Catalyst
- Linux
- Symantec Antivirus Corporate Edition
- Netscreen – Various products
- NetIQ – Various products
Education
College graduate greatly preferred. Microsoft certifications are highly
desirable. Microsoft certifications are not required to start but are
required for consideration for a full time position.
Additional information
The perfect candidate for this job is an experienced independent consultant
who has MCSE 2000 certification and some Cisco IOS experience. This candidate
can maintain Windows systems including Exchange 2000, SQL 2000 and Active
Directory at an expert level. This candidate has several existing clients
(networks with 50+ users) who are paying at least $90/ hour currently.
Ideally the candidate would be interested in merging the client base
to enjoy a more stable environment with greater technology and personnel
resources, and a tremendous team environment with the ability to increase
profitability.
